History

New College Boat Club has a very proud and successful history.

New College is one of only a few Oxford clubs to have held both Headships at Summer Eights. We have even held both the Torpids and Eights Women's Headships in the same year. New College is the 5th most successful college in Summer Eights, in terms of number of Men's Headships.

NCBC is one of only 11 Oxford or Cambridge colleges to have won the Grand Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta, having also won in various other events.

New College is the only Oxford or Cambridge college to have won an Olympic Medal; New College, representing Great Britain, won silver in the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden in the Men's VIIIs.
